Sermon text: 2 Timothy 1:6-7
Every Jesus believer has been given spiritual gifts. Some may be for life, others just for specific purposes and missions. But many believers, maybe even most, don’t ever use their gifts very much. We can make all kinds of excuses as to why, but the main culprit is very likely fear. Not the “shaking in your boots” kind of fear, necessarily, but more of an apprehensive, reluctant fear of the unknown. Paul explains to Timothy that this fear isn’t from God. In fact, God has provided us with His love and power, and a mind directed by our faith to combat and overcome this fear.
